Pediatric Readiness Skills Day Schedule & Objectives
What Is The Pediatric Readiness Program?
Ensuring that EMS, hospitals, urgent care & clinics have resources & guidelines to provide quality emergency care to children. More than 80% of childhood visits occur in community hospital Eds.
Class Objectives:
- Describe pediatric triage goals Build a systematic pediatric assessment plan
- Describe pediatric vs adult airway differences
- Identify 4 pediatric respiratory categories and treatments Define pediatric respiratory distress and respiratory failure
- Discuss pediatric ventilation goals and protocols Participate/demonstrate pediatric airway skills
- Identify 4 pediatric shock categories and treatments
- Participate/demonstrate pediatric vascular access skills
- Participate/demonstrate/debrief pediatric team approach to mock code
